In 2006, Mr. Forney started R. Forney & Associates, LLC, to build upon his eighteen-plus years of experience providing high quality structural engineering services to architects, owners, and industry. With past experience in new, renovation, adaptive reuse, and historical rehabilitation projects, he has achieved structural solutions with all primary building materials. While overseeing all aspects of the firm’s production, his primary responsibility is turning the client’s ideas into a set of high quality construction documents.
Keast & Hood Co., Philadelphia, PA: 1999 to 2006
Mr. Forney served as design engineer for various institutional, commercial and renovation projects. As a Project Manger, he undertook additional responsibilities overseeing production staff and working closely with the client to coordinate the structural design. Many of the renovation projects involved analyzing and strengthening existing framing systems.
Benatec Associates, New Cumberland, PA: 1993 to 1998
Mr. Forney served as staff and senior structural engineer responsible for providing structural design and review of new building and bridge projects, inspection and assessment of both building and bridge structures, rehabilitation design and analysis of existing buildings, and forensic investigation of collapsed roofs.
Universal Concrete Products, Douglassville, PA: 1988 to 1989, 1990 to 1993
Mr. Forney was responsible for the design of architectural and structural precast building components and their connections, staff supervision, and shop drawing review.
